OUR STAFF

The company currently employs 94 full-time and 43 temporary staff across its 2 manufacturing units. With the planned capital expansion set for the 1st quarter of 2020 the number of full-time employees will increase by an additional 30 staff in the next 2 years.

Our staff are passionate about producing quality products that serve to delight our customers. Many of our staff have a long tenure with the company of over 10 years and have become part of the FG La Pasta family. Enabling the company to obtain a coveted FSSC 22000 certification.

PASTA AND READY-TO-EAT MEALS PLANT

Our pasta plant consists of a dedicated, short cut pasta manufacturing line with the necessary flexibility to manufacture short cut pasta variants to our customer’s short-term needs. It also boasts a lasagna sheet manufacturing line, with in-line cooking and pasteurisation which allows us to be one of the leading fresh-cooked lasagna sheet manufacturers in South Africa.

Our ability to cut lasagna sheets to customised sizes provides our customers with an easy and cost-effective way of preparing lasagna meals. The plant also includes a dedicated pasteurised, filled pasta manufacturing line that allows for the manufacture of a range of filled pastas.

A STATE-OF-THE-ART LICENSED TECHNOLOGY FOR FRESH READY-TO-EAT MEALS

Our ready-to-eat meal plant includes world-class licensed technology that allows us to provide high quality, preservative-free ready-to-eat meals with a shelf life of 30 days. The innovative technology allows the product to be cooked under pressure allowing for a process of pasteurisation which locks in all nutrients removing the need for additional preservatives, additives and fulfilling microbiological requirements. 

The patent valve technology allows for uniform heating of the meals before serving, thereby ensuring consistency in its performance and high customer satisfaction ratings.

FROZEN FOOD PLANT

Our frozen foods plant consists of high capacity cryogenic freezing tunnels, a dedicated preparation kitchen, freezing rooms with automated form fill and seal packaging lines. The facility allows FG La Pasta to be one of the leading players in tailor-made IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) products, providing customers with a range of value-added products for convenient cooking.
